Traitor’s Gate

Traitor’s Gate

The large dark archway leads down by a steep staircase to Traitor’s Gate, which in Reformation times opened directly upon Thames River and through which many famous and infamous persons passed on their way to imprisonment, including Saints Thomas More and John Fisher, as well as Anne Boleyn.

  1. Looks bone chilling cold and overcast there which fits perfect for the mood. I can almost hear Friar Jude’s resonant voice saying, “Behold the heart of a traitor…” while looking at these photos…lol Awesome stuff!
