What a read! No wonder Hollywood’s version of the neck biting fiend is surrounded by Catholic imagery and the soundtracks are rife with the groaning of organs playing quasi-liturgical music in the for boding Castle Dracula. I imagine the nascant movie industry of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s in America was more than happy to be compliant with making such an association stick. (Just a hunch.)
