An Olive Branch to the SSPX from Archbishop Di Noia
Excerpt:
– On the other, the SSPX still considering that certain passages of the teaching of Vatican II cannot be reconciled with the preceding Magisterium, it could discuss it, as long as it:
– abstains as a matter of principle from [discussing them in] the mass media;– does not establish itself as a parallel magisterium;– always presents the objections in a positive and constructive manner– bases all its analyses on deep and wide theological bases.
Rorate Caeli is an SSPX website?
In Christ,
Marian
Not “officially” as far as I can see, but largely sympathetic. Many of the commenters, for sure, are SSPX. And the comments are moderated. I’ve had several that were not accepted. So that gives you an idea of what they are fostering over there.
They have stated the letter has been made public and posted it. I am confused, though, would the letter have been received by the SSPX before Bishop Fellay’s comments in the December interview?
In Christ,
Marian
Yes, Marian, the letter has been made public. See here.
And Yes, the letter came before the December interview with B. Fellay. That is to say Fellay said all those things after Ab. Di Noia tried so eloquently to build a bridge.
I am working on another post now.
