We were asked not to take pictures in the small crypt where St. Thomas is buried very respectfully after a Catholic manner, but this is a shot of the area where the crypt is. The general public is not given access, but when I asked a very kind Beefeater where St. Thomas had been imprisoned he told me that the cell was part of the private quarters of the captain of the Tower, but that he would be glad to show us the Saint’s tomb. The darkened arched door that is only partly visible is the way that leads down into the crypt. The door further to the right is the main entrance into St. Peter ad Vincula (Anglican), where more than 1500 of those executed within the tower are buried.
What are those circles in the picture? One is almost covering Claudio’s foot!
Just lens flares, nothing extraordinary.
