A prison is the perfect setting to demonstrate how lobsters suffer when they are caught in traps or confined to cramped, filthy supermarket tanks,” PETA wrote in a June 2 letter to the commissioners. “The center will teach visitors to have compassion for these interesting, sensitive animals while also commemorating the millions of lobsters who are ripped from their homes in the ocean off the coast of Maine each year before being boiled alive.
Crusaders for wimpy and stupid causes. Try saving some of the unborn babies who are slated to be “ripped from their homes” in their mothers’ wombs and shredded into pieces, and then treat go and yourselves to a nice big lobster tail.
Sword salute to HotAir.
…it was odd that PETA would object to the jail conditions for lobsters but had never filed a complaint on behalf of the human inmates incarcerated there.
Typical. Back when I had the time and inclination, I would engage some of these folks in some online debates. Basically, they’re nuts. Almost all are pro-abortion, and some even advocate killing children after they’re born. Don’t hold your breath waiting for these people to defend human rights.
PETA – People Eating Tasty Animals! 😀
We should start a group for the protection of ticks at the Friary! They need to feed just as much as we do! *cough* 😉
Father, I’m working on something I want to email you, is your email address the same one associated with your wordpress account (i.e., frangelo)? Or do you use a different one? Thanks! (it may be a few days before I get the email to you though.)
Yes, all of this nonsense is a slippery slope. Where does one stop? Cruelty to lobsters, trees and, yes, even ticks! This is what happens when we throw caution and moderation to the wind. (PETA … people eating tasty animals …. too funny.) I’m not saying that there aren’t cases of unnecessary cruelty to animals and I don’t think that stuffing thousands of chickens into woefully overcrowded quarters is kind or sanitary for that matter and certainly not as God intended. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t eat chickens nor that we need to start rallying on their behalf … there are better things for which to relay … like the unborn babies as was mentioned.
I love the statement …. “ripped from their homes and boiled alive”. How else would they propose we do it??
